    Great piece of software.

I had this problem with a Dell laptop. I had lost my original CD and could not find the serial. I wish I knew this before.

    Thanks for commenting.
As far as laptop purchasing, i believe that you need to first determine what is the main usage. Will you be using it for browsing the web and editing your blog, or will you be running complex PC games also.
I would say that the processor (dual, i would say more than 7100 and 1.8 Mhz and the RAM memory (no less than 2 GB, so you'll be able to run Vista comfortably) are the more important factors. If you'll be gaming i will also look into a fast video adaptor. Make sure that you have a built-in wireless network card as well. As far as the Hard disk, a 80GB (that you'll later split into two partitions) will be ok.

I personally bought this one a few days ago: http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdet...

    Good luck.

I've found that if you can get A NUMBER, you can usually get it to fly after a well crafted call to M$.

Another free product that will find just about all the serial numbers and keys for just about every thing on your computer is SIW.EXE ( System Information for Windows). It can be found at: http://www.gtopala.com/ . It also will give you more information than you thought possible about your hardware.

    Cheers, Acelduma.

There seem to be a lot of apps like this out there. I'm not sure why as I've never had this problem, but then I always look for the sticker when I buy a PC *and* verify it on the Microsoft website when I get it home (I've never had one turn out to be invalid. I'm assuming I could make a chargeback if it ever happened.)
