Netbooks on their way out… official!
Most of the previous posts are complete garbage from people who know absolutely nothing about which is better and have been to a site or two with NO statistical data and made up their minds on looks. :p
In my opinion the PS3 is much better if you want processing power, sexy graphics, easy connectivity and an overall sleek n' speedy machine.
Xbox 360 is more designed for music and movies but will still do an almost equal job.
the ps3 has 8 processors at 3.2 ghz each the 360 same, ecxept 360 only has 3 processors.
output, the ps3 can display 1080(p) which beats 360's 1080(i),
memory the PS3 has 48 gigs, but the 360 wins here with 256gigs(sharp)
both have a 256mb CPU and GPU
PS3 wins in the graphics accelarator,360=500mhz,PS3=550mhz
thats mostly it.

5.1 dolby surround sound,(sweet(each)),conclusion,if you want to play games PS3 is the 1 for u; as the specs r much better on the PS3,BUT the xbox 360 does have all that media and XBox live, silver=free, gold=better service BUT 50$ cost.also, the xbox 360 uses dual layer DVDs(which means the games can be up to 10 gigabytes or sumthing like that)the PS3 uses new 8 layer blu-ray discs which means games can get up to 256 gigabytes(more then most hard drives today!!!)sweet,so ill definately be getting PS3 and i recommend u do too(if i cud afford it id get both!!!!)but i dont know much about nin10do revolution so reply 2 this topic, as i have ritten a large review so shud u(PS only take specs from 3RD PARTY SITES I.E NOT MICRO$OFT OR SONY as they tend to exxagurate a bit (and not sony/micro$oft fan sites, only neutral sites plz thz). note REPLY!!!!!
and has everybody forgotten about the <strike>revolution</strike> wii?
I dont have the latest TV to play the games or watch the vid clips in HD, but i have to say that the graphics on games like PGR 3 Ghost Recon are quite incredible.
If you've owned the previous XBOX console - you'll love the controller on the 360. The B&W buttons have been moved above the triggers to become left & right shoulder buttons (much better in my opinion). The shape has been redesigned & looks cool.
I have had the XBOX 360 now for about 5 months & found that there are Pros and Cons to the console.
CONS:
1) When an XBOX 360 game is inserted into the disc tray, the 2 fans at the back of the console increase RPM and become quite noisy; (the same sort of sound that your PC makes whilst burning a CD).
2) There is only one USB post at the back of the console; which if you dont have your console sitting next to your wireless router, is to be used for the wireless networking adapter.
However, this can be sorted out by purchasing a USB hub from any pc store (get one that includes a power adapter).
3) Its not wireless out of the box. So you need to fork out an extra £60 for a w/less network adapter if your console isn't next to your w/less router (if it is - you can use a cat 5e cable).
4) The 20gb hard drive which you get with the premium package - doesn't contain 20gb, it actually has more like 13gb - the rest is used for 'system use'.
PROS:
1) Personal Gamertag: a username which is unique to you & is used to identify you during online play.
2) The XBOX 360 dashboard display consists of 4 catagoric switchable screens: XBOX Live, Games, Media & System.
From these 4 screens - you can easily navigate your way around the console.
3) The XBOX Live Marketplace - one of the greatest aspects of the console.
Using the XBOX Live Marketplace, you can download Clasic Arcade Games, Gamer pictures (which are displayed next to your gamertag), video clips, music videos, Demos, Background Themes & more to come.
4) Updates - every so often, Microsoft relese an update for the XBOX 360 console or the 360's games (to fix bugs or to add some more features to the game, eg. you can download new cars not previously available for PGR 3.
5) Connectivity - you can connect many items to the 360 using the USB ports such as: Digital Cameras, iPod, MP3, PSP, & USB Memory Stick. These are all the ones i've tried so far.
You can also stream music & pictures from a WinXP PC once you install Windows Media Connect (quite tempramental). Or Stream Video from a Win Media Center PC.
6) Friends - you don't have to personally know anyone with a XBOX 360 to add them to your friends list. You can play online against someone, if you like them & want to play them again sometime, you can send them a friend request and they will be added to your friends list. You will be able to see if they are online when you are online at the sametime. Just like Yahoo messenger.
7) I've recently updated the console to find 2 new key features:
a) There is now a thing called an active download list which means that you can have items for download in a queue rather than downloading them one at a time (something i've waited for a long time) & an extra subcatagory in the system menu called: XBOX Live Vision. This is for the XBOX Webcan that they are launching this year.
As you can see, the PROS far outweigh the CONS by far.

i think that sega dreamcast will blow the xbox360 and ps3 away when it comes out
The Sega Dreamcast?!? HAHAHA! Its been out for almost 5-7 Years! The graphics on the 'cast will be totally owned by the PS3.
Ha.
i say it again, the sega dreamcast will rule!
You def dont keep up to date on these things. I had a dreamcast like 5 years ago. HAHAHA. I cant believe you think that it hasnt come out yet. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2798088.html?q=dre... go here. This is a article about the dreamcast price going down in 2001. There, now your up to date on these kind of things.
Screw the dreamcast, come on sega saturn! That console will rule when it comes out.
design wise i like the look of the xbox 360 better
I can't believe i'm replying to this as it is sad as well, but I was searching to see which console I should get and I came across this random site and some really stupid posts, haha
don't be replying with any anger cos it'll be sad and I will probably never come across this again!
lol I thought they looked familiar
Even though the PS3 has better and more features than the Xbox 360, the PS3 also has some features that are unnecessary such as the Disc media and the Memory bandwith. If you own a Ps3 ou probably haven't noticed that the controller is the sema as before and not the one that was supposed to be released with it. (see example pic in link) My personal opinion is that Sony sucks! It is deff a good company and some of their products are ok, but in the end when a Sony product breaks its because of of the plastic. I know some of you will notice that Sony products are made with alot of cheap plastic and are no good when they break. I would deff vote for the Xbox 360, because of the simple menu options and because its from microsoft. Xbox 360 is just straight for gaming, music and whatever you want it for. Sony is taking it too far with the upgrades and thats why it is overpriced. It also has less of a selection on games, why because omly a few game-creation companies can afford to create graphics that high which leads to games that'll cost between $60 to $80. So Microsoft was smart and made the Xbox 360 a simple but also the best way they can with every feature that the buyers are interested in. Thats why I bought a Xbox 360!
And I'm sorry for the misspellings!
Have you seen that game with a bug that gives you easy 1000 game points?
It's a game called Avatar. Here is the video demonstrating how the bug is done:

Nice uh? I will rent this game asap! :D
1.The360s grafix are better(the cpu on the 360 is more pawerful (The Xenos GPU on the XBOX 360 is superior the RSX) who ever said ps3 has better grafix slap your self the only thing the ps3 has goin for it is more cells but have not ben yousd yet.
2.the xbox 360 is is much easier to develop for. it usaly takes the ps3 weeks or even months longer for a game to come out.
i had both ps3 & xbox 360 , my xbox broke down 5 times and i was not happy with it so i through it out the window, my ps3 is well better hasnt died or overheated
PS3 WELL BETTER
Got 1 today and it rules!!!
