Connected Internet: Vista Ready Boost Didn’t Work On My Machine

    Who would have known :S

I think the problem is, that the flash rams are hotswap. Windows can't save files it "needs" on their if it suddenly is being removed (at least I think so)

I don't think it is supposed to speed up boot time.
It is supposed to speed up performance while USING the system.

You can find a list of readyboost compatible usb flash memory here: http://www.readyboostmemory.com

It would make sense that it takes longer to boot up and shut down simply because it's just one more program. It does however speed up your performance overall (in my experience) once it's up and running. However if you go over a certain size of flash drive, say two 2GB ones or a single 4GB one over a single 2GB drive you might experience problems.

It takes longer to boot up because the driver/software for the Ready boost needs to be loaded. It probably needs to initialize the flash memory in Vista, that can take some time.
