All I know is good content will produce good, quality backlinks in time...and isn't that all you need for good PR?
Actually, I don't know very much. I have 2 sites, 1 with quite a few backlinks, a high google rank (4) and a PR 0. The other has no backlinks, an ok google rank (15), and a PR of 2!! Confused? I am.

I'm not guilty of old blackhat, the reason for that is i didn't have a website back then!
At the moment there is a lot of link spamming and people buying links though, so that isn't very old.
