Connected Internet: Mobile Phone Charger, One Is Enough!

  • Everton · 2 years ago
I saw this story as well. One can only hope. I hate having to ask ten different people in an office if they have a charger that fits my phone, and also having to carry a selection in my car as I don't have a lot of space in my car. I have to carry:

charger for Motorola Bluetooth Headset

Nokia N95

FM transmitter - although I'm getting my Dension iPod kit installed tomorrow

TomTom - getting hard-wired in tomorrow

    Soon, Zane, soon......

I do hope that this comes off, just for the sake of standardisation. My last two HTC smartphones have been Windows-based and use the micro-USB connection to charge and synchronise with my computer.

Zane - if you're not sure what it looks like, you can see it here:

Now wouldn't it be great if ALL our portable electronics standardised on this i.e. PDA's MP3 players etc then it might make sense to push low voltage DC wiring around a house for them all and we could hook it to those nice low voltage DC solar panels and all be a little greener...

Yes- about time everything from razors to cellphones used the same charging jack. Imagine the pleasure of a universal AC Adapter with current and voltage controller.

One thing I liked about nokia was how its chargers fit virtually every phone. This is unlike other brands that often touted a different charger across the model lines. Do they think we like lugging around suitcases full of chargers??

Thats should be nice idea. Any future gadget should have this std. :)

It is really a good news for all..now we dont have to worry about mobile charging probs..

It would be a brilliant idea in my opinion! My current phone uses an absolutely shocking quality charger (it has needed to be replaced twice already!), which is very annoying, but also there are about 5 different perfectly good phone chargers at my house going unused as their respective phones are now out of date! It's a good way for phone companies to make money but is very irritating.

I never had any problems with my mobile charger .I keep only one charger when i change my mobile.

I have the same problems as you, getting the stupid wires all tangled up when trying to charge my phones. I would absolutely go for one of these when they come out. The problem is...then we'll need new phones to fit the charger. Oh well, eventually it should work out great.

USB Datacable of my W810i work as charger when plug in I think you are talking about the same.
  • abhishek · 2 years ago
Well for me one is surely not enough as i run out of my batteries at any given point of time and some time back i had to run like hell from one place to another and my life was totally dependent on the mobile.Fortunately i had a nokia piece which is quite commonly use so i didnt had any probs
    Cheers

We all have Nokia at home and we actually use one chager for all the Mobile Phone.

We all have Nokia at home. So a charger is enough for us.
Mini-USB are the type of port of some digital camera. One side is that port the other is a regular USB.

I love the idea of public chargers, stsytalking.com and recharge.ie are the agents, but unfortunately there is not enough around, especially when i really need to juice up my mobile.

I like this idea but I think that companies will not approve such standardization. It is unprofitable for them.
