Connected Internet: Millionaire Bloggers Hall Of Fame

    First congrats on making it on the list. Aren't you the only European on the list?

    I'm not sure that my blog is ready to be sold yet. (Thats another way of saying noone would buy it yet), but if the amount of visitors keeps rising hopefully it will be worth something in 3-4 months. Considering all the hours I have put into it around $200k would be nice ;)

    The European angle is interesting, as I have to admit I only read a handful of European blogs. One of my biggest regrets is not going for a .com url as I'm convinced I would get a bit more traffic.

    I tried to buy www.connectedinternet.com once, but the domain squatter wanted around $10k which was crazy for an unused domain.

    Yeah a .com would give you even more visitors, but couldn't it be an investment then?
    I'm sure that if Connectedinternet continues to grow you can add the .com registration fee to its overall value. I mean going from .co.uk to .com must increase the value, maybe not by $10k the first month but after a few I'm sure it will.

    Still 10k is alot of money, I'm afraid I will have to pay even more if I want www.petersen-inc.com. Its an American company in Utah that focuses on fabrication and precision machining for the aerospace and nuclear industry. Though it never hurts to have some goals ;)

    And on a personal notes I'm adding you to my Blogroll. (You are actually only the second one)

    interesting point. I might have another look at this. I'll be interested to hear if anyone has any scientific proof that .com addresses get more traffic

    A .com doesn't necessarily effect rankings or organic traffic in itself from my experience, your .co.uk can rank just as well in google.com, if the domain is bookmarked and not type in traffic then you shouldn't lose out just using a UK domain, however unless your site is just UK based it probably would have been better to go with a .com for branding, hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

    Congrats!!! But as the value of ConnectedInternet.co.uk increases the value of .com increases all the more...Try now and I am sure they will demand very high...

    Firstly, congrats. It's good to know some bigshots :)

    And, as for the question about selling the blog, I know ajaydsouza.com is never going to be for sale... as of Techtites, I'm still not sure.

    As far as Darren and ProBlogger go he says his earnings are upwards of 120,000 but not that blog revenues are that great. Likely that figure includes speaking, b5 media pay, and other blogs he runs. I agree it is worth in excess of 1 million but the estimate may be off.

    @kris

    Darren makes considerably more than $120k. He was a six figure blogger two years ago (the phrase was created in reference to people like him) and he's way way bigger now than back then, and has more business interests

    Concerning the .com-talk I found this thread on TechCrunch forum:
    http://forums.techcrunch.com/forums/thread.jspa...

    They talk about picking the right domain. Since I read the post I've been twisting my brain where I read something about it. Finally I can rest now ;)
