I wouldn't say it's gone stale... but then again I'm a late comer to the scene. I like the fact that most of it's basic functions are as stable as arock (mostly) Most of the other functions can be resolved through plugins (which I love... there are some new ones that are quite exciting for me. Although there is a Wordpress Plugin competition hosted by Weblogtoolscollection.com) so the core package is still slimline.
I would like to see a few extra improvements to the core for Wordpress - including some functionality (such as more extension for future posting for events) that could be easily incorporated. I don't believe the keywords part should be core - not every blog relies on this function, and will only serve to bloat the core package. Aside from that, I can't really complain!
One thing they really should improve is the forum - pretty hard to find stuff there imho!

It is too early to decide WP's fate and such. I hope future Wordpress Major releases would feature better Content + User + Plugin + Security Management Features. I must say the current WP admin interface should see the first lights of improvement.

I'm with Martin on this one. I can't think of any tweaks to WordPress that would make love it any more than I already do.

My ultimate wish list from WP is that they make it an all encompassing CMS system but for the moment I'm most certainly a happy customer.

At some point, all software needs to focus on improving existing capabilities, rather than engaging in another round of feature-itis.

They even not letting new users to submit wordpress themes. Might be some inner changes are on the way.

Maybe you're right and my expectations are wrong. I guess I assumed that there would be constant innovation in the core code and via plugins, and because blogging is still so new, lots of new innovative features would be constantly evolving.

I guess I miss the days of changing my theme every week, and trying out dozens of new plugins!

According to the roadmap WP version 2.2.1 is due to be released within the next couple of days, but that only fixes bugs.

WP 2.3 has some great news for us, Everton. By us I mean the contributers/co-writers. A new feature adds a â€œSubmit for Reviewâ€ Button for people logged in as Contributors on a WordPress Blog. It will give you a list of drafts pending for review.

Everton what is your expectation ? I honestly can't think of anything big at this moment that would make Wordpress any better. Sure, it would be fine if they would reduce loading times, database requests and the like but when it comes to features I'm pretty satisfied.

i think google blogger is niche for SEO, because google index the pages faster than other sites.

I'm too new to Wordpress to consider it stale just yet. However, I would like to see them address a few things. First, it would be great if Wordpress addressed some of its SEO issues - like a single page coming up in multiple ways and potentially appearing as duplicate content. That shouldn't require a plugin or additional work on the part of the blogger. Second, I would like to see further improvements in speed. Not everyone can afford a dedicated provider and some shared environments leave something to be desired.

Actually I have no problems at all with WP - there really isn't that much extra functionality I want that I think should be implemented.

I never really gave it an alternate thought, mostly because so many people successfully use WP. But, now that you mention it, it does seem stale. Have you heard what else out there is exciting?
