Connected Internet: How Much Is Your Domain Name Worth

  • listikal · 2 years ago
Thanks for the link Ev. Like I said, hard telling how they are evaluating your site, but I doubt it's all that different then let's say a Technorati.

    Everton,
    What is that domain name?
I think Leap fish takes into account the domain name also, I mean it checks if it has '-' or .com or .net etc. I'm not very sure about this, but read in another blog.
  • Brown Baron · 2 years ago
I think it also checks if it's a top level domain and how long the name is, and the domain's age.

Wooohooo! My ex-blog, a rubbishy old PR4 site is worth $2,178!!!

I'm off to Digital Point to post an ad:-)))))))))))))))))

    It is worthless ...
  • Nirmal · 2 years ago
May be the '7' in the domain name reduced the value. :D
  • Martin · 2 years ago
Nice my blog is valued at $170498,00
  • Shashank · 2 years ago
that tool is just a fake thing
    i typed some random dfhlahf.com
and it says its worth $60
  • Zath · 2 years ago
My zath address is apparently only worth $91 - hardly worth renewing then eh? ;)

And yet my simonbarker.com which has only ever been used as a forwarding domain so far and is supposedly worth $741 - must be the age since I've had it since 2000.
  • Nirmal · 2 years ago
Nirmal, you're correct. it does take into consideration of words used, domain age etc... This is how normally domain names are appraised ;-)
  • Ajay M · 2 years ago
Mine is a 23 dollars domain...HE HE HE
  • Nirmal · 2 years ago
    @Shanshank,
You are right. It could be fake also. I too tried dfgdfgdgdf.com and it gave me $20. :-)
  • Andy · 2 years ago
Now, if only they'd back up their valuations of junk domain names with cold, hard cash...
  • Chris · 2 years ago
So I tried a few of my domains. My most active site was valued at a pathetic $648. One that I've had for three years -- even though it was parked for much of that, and has just recently been resurrected as a personal blog -- was worth $50k. Hey, if anyone wants it that bad, I'm selling.

Offhand, I'd say they evaluate backlinks; PageRank; whether the domain is made up of dictionary words, and how common they are; the TLD; how many letters are in the domain; and how long it's been active.

PaperFrog.com: it can be yours. Operators are standing by. ;-)

I check mine and it is a WHOPPING $68.... anyways, thanks for that useful resource.

  • Mosey · 2 years ago
Thanks for the link too- a bit of fun :) alas mine aren't worth much, but it was something to kill time. I think it takes into account hyphens/age at the least.
  • Angie · 2 years ago
I put in three of my blogs. Two came out as being worth $12 and one as being worth $71

But, one of my static sites estimated at $12,915.00
I wish that was true, brcause I am so TIRED of running that site and would love to see a way to sell. :)
  • green · 2 years ago
I dont think this tool working correctly it gave me $1,088.00 PR3
  • No Site Names! · 2 years ago

My global blog received 275 usd as value

  • Rob · 2 years ago
wow.. just checked mine. $40,700. Nice
  • Rob · 2 years ago
um, that's the www.formerfatguy.com one, not the www.formerfatguyblog.com one

formerfatguy.com is nearly 10 years old, while ffgblog.com is less than a year old

what is also curious is that in the past month, I've had 3 people ask to buy my domain. I asked $250,000. No bite
  • Aneel · 9 months ago
