I wasn't aware of this at all, and did feel that Google ads sometimes were influenced by non-related areas of the website, like sidebars. I will try this out to see if this helps.

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

thanks, mine eCPM and CTR have grown too!

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

yes - it definitely works

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

Thanks for this - have you still found good results with adsense using this tactic?

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

This comment is automaticlly submitted by WpSender2.1 Soft.
$20 per copy. If only I'd remembered to keep it in......

@Shashank

Add the targetting to any page where you are displaying adsense ads. I would also think hard about whether or not to put adsense ads on pages other than single.php, as the poor CTR on those pages can pull down the CPC on the pages with better CTR because of Smart Pricing e.g I don't feature adsense on my homepage, or in my sidebar because of the poor eCPM. The unit under my posts is a strong candidate for removal and I review it every month or two.

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

we should add the section targeting codes in the single post pages right ? i am gonna try it this time :)

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

@E - as a follow-up I went and checked my TypoXP Reloaded theme for this code and it is present back to version 1.1 of the theme.

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

i try to section targeting but seem like no much improvement on CTR

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

Yes, it's very important to use section targetting.

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

Do you still use this method on your blog.

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

hmm can't remember if my CTR or rev per click went up, but my eCPM went up 50%

Re: Double AdSense CTR – Use Section Targetting

did it double your ctr ?
