I lost all my files including my revenue tracker, so I never wrote the report at the end of the month. I've been debating whether I'm going to continue the reports as they don't appear to be as popular as they used to be e.g. you're the first person to ask about the missing report. I made around $10k in Jan.

It's obviously a wise decision to pay taxes on blogging income rather than creating a risk by ourselves of paying big fines for failing to report only a few hundred or even a thousand of dollars.

Yes, I pay taxes on blogging income...I can't wait for the day when there's a flat tax for fairtax, it would make my life SO much easier. :)

Yeah I include my income on my return. It was funny when my accountant had a look at the income sources and saw Google. I had to explain the whole affiliate marketing thing to him. After I'd finished I think he'd decided to give up accounting after 20 years and start running websites!

Yep, I put all my web earnings together, sum it up and put it in as "additional income". But only the amount that I have actually recieved, not the amount that shows as "owed to me" but hasn't been paid out. Of course for me the amount is soo small we are only talking a difference of a few cents.

I'm in Canada, but I've heard rumors that in the states there actually isn't any "law" requiring individuals to pay personal income tax, is it true or just an urban legend?

@mlankton : I get 1099-MISC forms from Google, so going by your thinking, you should report your Adsense income as it already is being reported to the IRS.

That's only if you're American, though.

I pay taxes on my income made from my two websites http://ww2db.com and http://www.cougardb.com . It's my duty as an American to pay taxes!

Besides, why would you want to risk big fines for failure to report only a few hundred or even a couple thousand of dollars? Not worth the risk, plus you'll have that guilt on your conscience.
