Netbooks on their way out… official!
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core
4 GB DDR2
2 x 400 GB SATA II (Software RAID 1)
Maybe the problem is not caused by the server's hardware but by other factors, e.g. configuration, software installed and running, provider's backbone.
If you got root access you could run a few basic commands like "top" or "netstat" to find out more about the resource usage.
I personally would not say that a dedicated server running the three sites would need more than 4 GB of RAM. More is better of course but 4 Gigabytes should be sufficient. I would definitely take a look at the cpu and get a modern Intel or AMD cpu instead if you change servers.
I don't think you will get a good Dedicated for below 250 bucks
Are you asking if I have enough traffic ot cover the cost? Yes, which is one of the reasons I want to switch as I'm convinced I'm losing enough traffic each month to pay for the switch.
New server is in place and is looking good so far
Web hosting talk is a great place to start getting the lowdown on hosts from people who use them. Just beware the shills who are likely employees of crappy hosts trying to lead you astray.
Well, i am very pround using liquid also. great suppot.
@everton
my suggestion is there is no system that 100% run smoothly, so try to reach a good data center and an easy supporting contact for fast fixing problem.
i had tried RZ also, it is cheap, but i still annoyed by the incoming email spam activity. or maybe it because i am not set the spamassassin correctly.
Also, you really should be updating the OS :-) CentOS 4 is quite old.
