I do not think it is that easy to add metas from the theme, i would stick with the plugin for now..

thanks. I'll give that a go rather than trying to work on the live blog. I managed to do most of the quick stuff last night, but I'm now moving onto the stuff that could break things.

Out of interest, do you know how to add meta to posts via the theme rather than using the auto-meta plugin? I'm trying to cut out as many plugins as possible as my pages were getting too slow (and are still too slower than I want them to be at the mo)

let me help..

download XAMPP (http://www.apachefriends.or...
install it on your system.

The main folder for all WWW documents is at \xampp\htdocs

you access the server by typing in localhost in your address bar

Backup your webserver files and copy them in that directory
Backup your database (from phpmyadmin) and import them into a new database
Change the wp-config.php settings (password, user, database name)

That should be everything..
