Although its illegal to download songs from sites, there are lot of sites which still offer for free download. There are also some personal sites which have uploaded songs.

Have just discovered that the freely downloadable Alltunes software, which used the allofmp3 engine, still works.

My account & balance were still intact, and have had no problems downloading stuff today.

The wikipedia entry for allofmp3 speculates that mp3sparks.com was down because of a massive traffic spike caused by the news, rather than anything more sinister.

3gp, it's not illegal to download mp3s. It depends on what copyright they use.

I think there will always be sites similar to this. Where there is a willing marketplace with eager consumers and money to be made, you cannot hold back those who will try.

i don't know, i don't think there is too much anyone can do to keep these sites completly down.. i mean theres always a way around it, and they will spring up again is some other fashion.

I'm proud to say that I've purchased all the CDs released from my favourite band. - from Japan If CDs weren't so expensive in the UK (with reference to HMV and those 'large' companies, since Play and such rock) I think they'd actually make an impact in reducing downloading.

Honestly, I still get my mp3s from CDs I buy. What I do is use services like Rhapsody or XM Radio or Radio Blog Club, listen to music that I think I would like (say the tracks of a CD) and if I like it, I go to the store and buy it and then rip the tracks. Does this make me old school?

It is illegal to download mp3s. Is block the one site is the solution? what about torrent sites? P2P softwares ? Priacy wont stop in those countries where even offical GOV sites didnt updates for years. The Lawyers dont know what internet laws are they dont even know how to surf or search or even use email.

So what you expect to stop online pricay. What i think people from developed nations purchase CDs or buy online music and rest of the world download them via internet. It give artists publicity and help them get more concerts which is the main source of income rather then salling music to records.

I belong to a country where even artists dont have an idea about online promotion and when they read my interview or news about the concerts i arranged for underground bands they reached me and asked me to put their music online so they get publicitiy even mainstream artists called me send me CDs to promote their music. So what u think this is pricay? when artists reach themselves.

I send the same question to Google Team and they acknowledge my efforts and give authority to my site.

It doesn't look as if allofmp3 is properly dead yet - an almost exact duplicate of the site has sprung up at mp3sparks.com.

Same tracks, same basic design, same IP address as the old site. They've even ported across the user accounts of allofmp3 customers.

I haven't been able to log into my account so far, although when I clicked on the 'forgotten password' link, they emailed me my password details almost immediately, so I assume that I'll be able to log in sometime over the next day or two and (hopefully) reclaim to $10 or so left in my account!
