I think this is a big joke.. Let me tell you something:

I have two websites, one has around 5k uniques per day, and one has around 1k uniques per day. And guess what, the site with 1k uniques has a lower alexa.

So i think we shouldn't trust alexa. What do you think?

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

Does it just help you to measure your traffic, or it helps in bringing traffic also ?

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

I wont be able to see Alexa Ranking image at my end.

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

I saw a huge difference in my numbers with the release of the new too bar, too. And, not for the better I must add.

I question how valid Alexa rankings wil continue to be when it comes to determining the value of the the traffic to a website. We are still looking at the fact that the only traffic counted is the traffic associated with a tool bar.

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

Alexa is overrated, there should be another way of estimating traffic.

A. I have a site have 1000-3000 visitors daily, only 700k alexa, and 300-500 visitors has 200k alexa ranking.

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

@Selborune: I really doubt that after they have changed the algorithm lately. Check out some of the post on Alexa's Blog.

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

Well people say "What's the big deal about alexa ranking. It does not count for anything". Its written all over the internet that these rankings can be cheated with. You just tell you network to install the alexa toolbar and surf your sites as often as possible.

Very true.

But then Alexa is one of the kind that has this sort of information on the public domain and also extensively used. With this kind of usage of the tool bar the world over, to cheat...one's network needs to be bigger as well.

Re: Alexa Algorithm Update Completed

@Horisly: Its a traffic measurement tool and so it just calculates your visitors.
