I don't know if you knew, but you can easily make Web Developer take far less space.

Just right click on your toolbars and select Customize, then move all the items from there to wherever you have space. For me, I put two flexible spacers to the right of the basic File/Edit/etc. menu bar and stuck all the icons in the middle. It fits snugly, looks good and takes no extra space!

The only thing that irks me sometiems about firebug is that it *does* show you JS modified text. It can be a blessing for troubleshooting ajax,etc, but if you want to see your google adsense code quickly, it shows you the actual rendered google code instead.

Theres probably a way to toggle between them, but whatever. still amazing.

Wow, I didn't know about Firebug. I'll have to give it a try, I'm tired of clicking on the drop down menu...then "source".

i ve installed Firebug just now...its a wonderful addition to my addons...as Kline said the best thing is it doesn't take any toolbar space to the already crowded state.

One of the best plugins i have seen for firefox is SEO Quate. Its great! Shows you a wealth of information including links in google and yahoo as well as alexa rankings and PR. Its really good to quickly check that stats of any site.

I prefer firebug to webdeveloper in all honesty. A lot of people *really* like webdeveloper, but I think firebug has a lot more features that help with design more (maybe i am not fully using webdeveloper)... but just install firebug.. right click on a page, select inspect element and ... enjoy. Everything is editable and shows up realtime. It integrates with YSlow, which is always a plus. Works well with ajax calls, CSS, DOM manipulation, profiles your site.. pretty much whatever you would ever hope from an html development standpoint. Plus, it doesn't take up any toolbar space ;)

Nice handy list presently i am using colorzilla,fasterfox ,searchstatus,sparky :),Imageshack right click.

My favorite are SearchStatus and SEO for Firefox.

I noticed that the pagerank value shown in SearchStatus is always the correct one, while the the Google toolbar sometimes shows a wrong value.

You would need to reload the page for the toolbar pagerank to show the correct value.

Nae bother. I'm not quite sure what happened to my link text there, it got a bit out of control.

Firebug is available for IE, but imo, it is not worth it. It's just a logging console, none of the other wonderful features.

Firebug contains that information, but it is likely you are thinking of another extension.

Though, seriously, firebug is the best around. weeeeee. look, I can change the font on this page with a click. Wow, now it's in Georgia.

Welcome to the Connected Internet Team Kline, and great first post. I'm going to enjoy reading your posts and I think the rest of the readers will do as well.

I used to have an extension that allowed me to click on a page and see the CSS sections e.g. where < div id="content" > started and finished. Does anyone know what it is called?
